Placement Process

Eduglobal Associates seeks to sponsor Italian clinical education experiences jointly with physical therapy programs that desire an international experience for their students. Our goal is to offer a placement that matches the student’s desired setting and time frame. After students are placed, our staff works carefully to assure that they have the necessary information to make the experience productive and enjoyable. We remain available throughout the clinical experience to consult and intervene where necessary to maximize the clinical and cultural opportunities for each student.

Step 1

Determine Eligibility

Eduglobal contracts with physical therapy programs. Request a copy of our standard contract in Word format for review by your risk management and legal teams. The Eduglobal contract can be revised within the limitations imposed by the Italian clinical facilities and can be made automatically renewable. The execution of a contract is required before applications for placement may be submitted.

Step 2

Apply for Placement

The online application process is now used to request a placement.  Register on this website, confirm an e-mail address and then follow instructions to finish the three step application process.  (1) Write a 500-word essay describing the applicant’s goals for the international clinical education experience and (2) upload this along with a headshot photo.  (3) The student and the DCE fill out the application form online together. Eduglobal accepts applications on three dates – February 15, April 15, and June 15 of the year prior to the requested placement. As an example, the application dates for 2019 placements are February 15, April 15, and June 15, 2018. Eduglobal forwards the applications to the Italian clinical sites and normally receives placement offers within two to six weeks. The DCE is notified of the placement offers and informs the student. The student is given approximately one week to finally accept or reject the placement offer. A student who accepts a placement is then invoiced for Eduglobal’s administrative fee, which must be remitted within 10 days as a condition for final placement approval.

Step 3

Arrange Accomodations

Once a student has been finally approved for placement, they will be sent an invite to a shared Dropbox folder full of information regarding travel, policies, etc. Eduglobal assists with logistical arrangements. While students make their own flight arrangements, from three to six months in advance, Eduglobal is available to consult on routes and arrival/departure locations. Housing is arranged by Eduglobal after consultation with students regarding preferences. Eduglobal consults with students on ground transportation issues, as a vehicle is required for use on clinic days at all host facilities.
