We arrange somewhere near the clinic for you. Housing choice out here is genuinely limited and a car is worth having whatever you choose, so there is less to gain from looking further afield than there would be in a city. Talk to us before arranging anything independently and we will tell you what works.
The clinic is a 12-minute walk away, but a car is still strongly recommended: reaching the village from Florence takes over three hours by train and mountain bus, and shops and weekend travel are out of reach on foot.
Accommodation is €137.50 p/wk per student. A car is worth having here, and rental runs about EUR 1,100 a month usually split between the students in your cohort — budget for it as a second line alongside rent.
The Gavinana campus sits in a seven-hectare park and runs, alongside the rehabilitation centre, two residential homes for older people and one for adults with disabilities. Reaching it without a car means the train to Pistoia and then the Autolinee Toscane 54 up the mountain.
