Turin is a good deal cheaper than Milan, so living centrally is realistic here rather than a splurge. Going further out saves a little more and the trams and buses still get you in easily — mostly it comes down to how long a journey you want each morning.

Our accommodation is about EUR 950 a month in central Turin. Because the city is affordable to begin with, there is not much to save by moving out — and either way the trams and buses mean no car.
