For DPT programs · Working together
How we work together.
78 US programs have partnered with us over the years. Here's how a partnership usually unfolds — from a first conversation to your student settling into their site — and how we share the work along the way.
Along the way
From a first conversation to a student on site.
Whenever suits you
A first conversation
Drop us a note about your program — the rotation lengths you run, the terms you plan around, roughly how many students — and we'll suggest sites that fit and share the detail on each. We're also holding informational meetings for DCEs in November and December 2026, and we'd be glad to include you.
Early on
Our affiliation agreement
We'll send you our clinical affiliation agreement to review. Because we work on behalf of our partner clinics rather than being one ourselves, one agreement with us covers every site in the network, and it's written for placements abroad — EU data protection, host-country insurance and the like. If it needs to go through a legal or risk office, starting early gives everyone breathing room. Students are welcome to apply while it's in progress; we send offers once it's in place.
1 January 2027 – 18 April 2027
Your students apply
The 2028 round opens on 1 January 2027 and closes on 18 April 2027. Students apply through our website and tell us the sites and dates that would suit them and your program. Fall 2027 places are open now, too — just get in touch.
After the round closes
We find each student a good fit
We look at each application alongside the sites — length, dates, setting, caseload, and how many students a site can take, usually one or two at a time. If a student's first choice isn't possible, we'll suggest the closest alternative and talk it through.
The offer
You, your student, then us
Each offer comes as one DocuSign envelope with the placement sheet and the student handbook. You sign first, as your clearance of the site; your student signs to accept; and we countersign. Everyone receives a copy of the signed documents.
Once you've signed
Your DCE portal
Signing an offer gives you access to the DCE portal, where you can follow your students from then on. If you'd like to have a look before your first offer, just ask.
Acceptance to departure
Getting ready together
Your student gets their own portal for documents, travel plans and a running list of what's left to do. We look after the invoices and insurance, walk them through any safety training their site needs, and help them find somewhere to stay. The formal preparation starts about six months before departure; before then, we keep in touch about their town and their site.
On site
Close at hand throughout
Our in-country team are practising physiotherapists based in Italy, and they're there for your student from the first day to the last. The CI assesses on your program's instrument, so the evaluation comes back in a form you know, and we'll stay in touch with you throughout.
Sharing the work
What each of us brings to the partnership.
Your program
- A DCE as our main contact, and any colleagues who'd like to follow your students
- A sense of your rotation lengths, terms and student numbers
- The assessment instrument you use, so CIs can work with it
- Our affiliation agreement, reviewed and signed
- Your program's general and professional liability cover for your students (the agreement asks for $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 in aggregate)
- Anything else your school asks of students — a background check, particular immunizations — so we can add it to their checklists
- Your sign-off on each student's offer
EduGlobal
- Health and emergency insurance valid abroad, including evacuation home, through iNext — we enrol each student about two weeks before they leave
- The professional insurance the host country requires, at no cost to your program or your students
- One affiliation agreement for every clinic in the network, and one familiar point of contact
- English-speaking clinical instructors who assess on your program's instrument
- Our team of practising physiotherapists in Italy, there for your students throughout
- A portal for each student, and one for you to follow their progress
Before a student travels
How students prepare.
Before they travel, each student gathers a handful of documents, as the student handbook sets out. They upload them to their own portal, we help them along, and you can see how they're getting on in yours.
Every student
- Passport
- valid for at least six months beyond the date they leave Europe
- Immunization record
- tetanus-diphtheria, MMR, hepatitis B, and a negative TB test or chest x-ray within six months
- Healthcare Provider CPR
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Blood-borne pathogens training
- universal precautions, consistent with CDC guidelines
- Handbook acknowledgement
- signed as part of the offer
- Clinical introduction
- their goals for the experience, a photo and a résumé, so their CI can get to know them
Depending on the site
- Italian workplace safety training
- at the Italian sites that require it, before the first clinical day
- Swiss visa
- for Swiss sites; we direct the process and the fee is part of the Swiss administration fee
Health insurance valid abroad, and the professional insurance the host country requires, are arranged by us — students don't need to find their own.
Fees
Fees, simply put.
For the 2027 cycle the administration fee is $2,150 in Italy and Luxembourg and $5,150 in Switzerland, which includes visa processing. For 2028 it is $2,200 and $5,200. Students pay in installments, starting with a deposit when they accept. Flights, housing and day-to-day living are separate, and our Costs page estimates them town by town to help students plan.
Some programs choose to cover the deposit, or the whole fee, for their students. If yours would like to, let us know and we'll invoice the program directly — as one invoice for the group, if that's easier for your finance office.
